OUR HISTORY
2017
The international non-governmental organization Keep It Beautiful Vietnam (KIBV) was founded by Ms. Nguyễn Thu Trang (Rachel Isenschmid) and Mr. Michael Isenschmid, with its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. In the same year, KIBV launched the Public Environment Education Program (PEEP), a project aimed at improving language skills and environmental awareness among young people.
2018
KIBV was officially granted operational permission by the Department of Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allowing it to operate in Hoa Binh Province. The organization initiated various projects supporting 50+ schools, hosting weekly cleanup events, and providing free English classes to raise awareness about environmental protection and community education.
2019
KIBV launched Empower Women Asia (EWA), a project dedicated to supporting women in sustainable fashion and preserving traditional craft villages. That same year, KIBV and EWA were honored with an award from Én Xanh, a prestigious social entrepreneurship recognition organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Center for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP). The award recognized the project "Reviving and Developing Traditional Craft Villages, Empowering Women Economically in Mai Chau."
2020
KIBV expanded its operations to Hanoi, reaching more communities and implementing additional sustainable development initiatives.
2021
KIBV established and managed two major projects:
-
Green & Sustainable Community (GSC): Aimed at minimizing the negative environmental impact of the construction industry and promoting green and sustainable building initiatives.
-
Green Fair (GF): A project promoting sustainable local products, encouraging eco-friendly lifestyles and conscious consumption to create long-term positive environmental impact.
2023
KIBV introduced Eco & Sustainable Tourism Vietnam (ESTV), a project piloted in Hang Kia – Pà Cò (Hoa Binh Province) to promote sustainable tourism. The project focuses on cultural heritage preservation, local economic support, and responsible travel practices.
2024 to present
KIBV continues to expand its international reach, partnering with major organizations such as the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland, Swis-Viet Economic Forrum (SVEF), UNDRESS, and Paris Fashion Week. From a local initiative, KIBV has grown into a globally influential organization, especially in Vietnam, with a mission to drive sustainable development and create positive social impact.
